I am serious when I say that the one thing I am happy I learned
and has made my life a whole lot easier is when I learned how
to automate the tasks that is involved with an internet business.

Hi everybody,

You are probably wondering why I didn’t immediately jump up
this morning, and shoot out an e-mail of everything I’m thankful for.

As a matter of fact, had it not been for a potentially grave situation
in my family, I probably wouldn’t have sent this at all!

No, I won’t discuss the situation. 

Why?

Because my focus has never been on myself.  It has always
tried to be on others.

I believe that if I give you what you want and need, then God will
bless me with what I want and need.

I’m not saying that your prayers would not be appreciated.
You don’t even need to know who or what the situation is.

As a matter of fact, one time, a Christian friend of mine once found
out that Miz Kathy was not feeling well, but she never knew
Miz Kathy’s name (or even her nickname of Miz Kathy). 
But she had heard me call Kathy by a pet name that I have for
her.  So that’s how she requested God to help Miz
Kathy was by praying for Paul’s (pet name).

As I may have to jet out of here tomorrow morning or later tonight, I
decided I would explain why I hate the concept of Thanksgiving Day,
instead of waiting until Friday.

Really simple!

If you are not giving thanks every single day, like you learned last
week, you are pushing away the power of God to give you what you want.

So, be thankful every single day!

Now, let’s get to this week’s lesson!

Wattles begins by going back to Chapter 6 and how
the man shaped his house first in his mind, until it
became a reality.

Step 1: Shape a clear idea in your mind of what you want.

He uses the example that if you were sending a telegraph,
you wouldn’t just send all 26 letters of the alphabet to get your
message across.  But, yet, people do that all the
time. 

“I want to be rich.”

“I want to travel.:

No specificity.

Specify exactly what you want.  The clearer the desire and the
longer you hold it in your mind, the better your chances of
reaching into the universe and gathering the forces to bring
you the desired object.

But, just desiring it, and making it clear is not enough.

You have to have and express the REASON why you
want it.

And, then you have to back that with the FAITH that it is
already yours.  And that faith has to be unshakeable.

Make those things you want a “house” within your mind
and then live in that house.

Like Jesus said, “”Whatever things you ask for when you
pray, believe you have already received them, and you
will have them.”

Picture yourself using these things.  Don’t think for a second
that it is not yours.

Once you physically have the object, be thankful for it.

(That’s everyday, folks, not just on the third Thursday of November.)

And, you don’t have to keep repeating the desired thought all the
time, because as Jesus says, ” Don’t repeat yourselves over and
over again, like the unbelievers do, because your Father knows
you need these things before you ask him.”

You need to shape the desire for a bigger and better life in a
meaningful way (there’s that REASON thing again.)

Picture it with a REASON and a FAITH that you already have
it.  Don’t just keep saying a bunch of “chained-together” words
over and over again.

It’s not about “talking” faith, but “doing” faith.

You can’t make the mind of God notice by having just one
special day, (these are Wattles’ words, not mine, but
you are starting to see the theme, aren’t you.) set apart
to let HIM know what you want, and then forget about
HIM the rest of the week.  The idea (and the thanks) have
to be there constantly.

It’s not about a “sweet hour of prayer,” but rather “pray
without ceasing.”

And Wattles’ states that “prayer” is holding on to the
clear mental picture of what you desire.  (Don’t forget
the REASON and the FAITH)

After the idea is fully shaped in your mind, then you
can speak it aloud, and know, without a doubt, that
it is yours.

Think and speak of everything, (a new house, a nice
car, a great trip) as though you already have it.

Don’t just day dream about it.  By adding REASON
and FAITH, then you can make it real in your mind
so it can manifest in reality.

Let’s get to one of the keys of Wallace Wattles’
The Science of Getting Rich
 
As a matter of fact, Tony Robbins, will tell you,
there are two keys to being rich.
 
Giving.
 
And
 
An Attitude of Gratitude.
 
This whole chapter is on Thankfulness! 
(Gratitude).
 
Wattles begins by pointing out that the first key
to getting rich is to press your (pure) desire
into the shapeless stuff of the universe.
 
But, your desire must be in line with the
universe.  In other words, if you are a stupid
sophomoric teenager, who’s only desire is to
“have” some Hollywood Starlet (I won’t name one
because number 1: I don’t want to be sued; Number
2: I don’t want you to focus on something that’s
unimportant.  And yes, I’m deliberately
substituting a more vulgar term by using the word
“have”) that desire is not in line with the
universe.  I’m going to side-step from Wattles’
teachings for a moment, and point out this:  when
Adam and Eve were created, they were given
everything, until they sinned (or were out of line
with what the universe wanted).  Solomon was told
he would have riches and wisdom, regardless of
what he did, but that if he kept God’s
commandments (was in line with the universe),  he
would also have long life.  As he failed in the
last part, he did NOT have a long life.
 
Wattles states the easiest way to align yourself
with God’s mind is summed up in one word: 
Thankfulness (Gratitude).
 
Wattles states people chain themselves to poverty
by not getting this step right.
 
The idea is that the closer you get to where the
wealth is, the richer you will be.  Being in line
with God’s mind, Wattles states, is where the
wealth resides.
 
Being thankful is what puts you closest to God’s
mind.  (You can do the math, can’t you?)
 
By being thankful, you will see things that most
don’t.  You won’t fall into the trap of competing,
because you will have “new” ideas (which is part
of creation, and not competition.)
 
Wallace shows this is the law of action and
reaction.  If you are thankful towards God, the
equal and opposite reaction is that God will grant
you the desires that are in line with His Thinking
with the same force that you show thankfulness.
 
In other words, “Get Next To God, and He Will Get
Next To You.”
 
Jesus set the example when he prayed, “I thank
you, Father, that you listen and hear me.”
 
And, don’t just be thankful, just to get more
stuff.
 
The moment that you start being unhappy with the
way things are, you will fall back into the trap
of the negative, and that’s what you will send
out.  (And, you will reap what you sow.)
 
Focus on less than the best, that’s what you get. 
Focus on getting the best, that’s what you get.
 
Thinking stuff, that Wattles refers to, shapes
itself to what YOU are thinking.
 
Thankfulness, Wattles says, creates faith.  And,
without faith, you cannot be rich.
 
Give thanks for every good thing that you get. 
And, since everything created, helped you get what
you want, be thankful for everything.
 
That means, don’t grumble about the rich or
corrupt politicians, who aren’t living a good
life.  If it wasn’t for them, you wouldn’t have
the chances you have to become rich.  So, be
thankful, even for them.  Wattles believes that
God used them to get us to the point where more
doors are open and that God will deal with them
for their own wrongful actions in HIS own way. 
So, give thanks to all of them, because their
actions helped you get to this point.

Another
week has come and gone, and it’s time for your
next lesson on Wallace Wattles’ Science Of Getting
Rich!
 
Wattles begins by explaining that when he says you
don’t have to drive “hard bargains,” he doesn’t mean
that you don’t have to drive any bargains.  You don’t
have to deal with people as though you’ve got the
“upper hand” on them, but you can, in turn, return
“value for value.”
 
It is very, very important that you understand this
“value for value” concept.  If you cheat people, it
comes back and haunts you.  If you let them get the
best of you, then you end up a wimp and a wuss.  (Me
talking, not Wattles.)
 
He’s not talking about giving more in cash than the
value of the item, but, rather that they get more in
“use” value than what you take from them in cash value,
or vice versa.
 
He points out that the paper and materials in the very
book that you are learning could only cost mere
pennies.  But, if you learn an idea from it that gives
you thousands and thousands of dollars, then that’s
what he’s talking about as far as use value.
 
He then uses an example of selling a masterpiece of art
work to an Eskimo.  The Eskimo has no use for the art
work, and the Eskimo is “cheated,” as he did not
receive full value.  But, if he sells him a gun, then
the Eskimo can use the gun to capture food to feed
himself and his family over and over. 
 
It is very important, me talking again, that you get
this concept of providing the “goods and services” that
people need.  (You can get rich by giving people what
they want in the short term, but you end up cheating
them in the long run.  I may explain this at a later
date in more “graphic” terms, which should give you a
hint of what I’m referring to that is something that
people want in the short term, but destroys them in the
long run.)
 
Wattles shows that you don’t have to beat people out of
their money or their goods and services.
 
He then points out that you have to get more in use
value out of employees then you pay them in cash, but
you can create a situation where the employees have the
opportunity to move up the ladder in your organization,
if they will put in the effort to do so.
 
He then uses the example of wanting a sewing machine,
(don’t forget this was written in 1910), and points out
that if you use the methods taught, you will end up
having somebody from Texas or Japan come to you where
you can exchange cash or goods or services in a fair
way for both parties, so that you get what you have
purposed, and they get what they have purposed. 
 
He points out that Jesus said, “It is the Father’s
(God’s) pleasure to give you what you want.”
 
And, then Wattles goes into a discourse I had not known
of until I read it the first time.
 
He talks about a little boy sitting at a piano who can
feel the music inside of him, but he doesn’t know how
to get his fingers to play the tune.
 
Wallace suggests this is “God wanting to come out and
play” through you.
 
The “good” desires that you feel, are God “playing”
through you.  If you have the desire, you will find a
way to let God play through you.
 
Me Talking Again:  There are examples in the Bible
where God gifted people with certain skills and made
them the best at their craft or skill above all others.
 
Wattles explains that God wants you to have the things
that you need, such as pianos for musicians, (or
computers for webmasters), so that he can come out and
play.  But, to do all that you have to be rich.  And
to
be rich, you must follow the methods taught.
 
The problem, Wattles states, is that this is the
hardest part to get over.  God wants you to have nice
things, so He (God) can play, so you should have no
problem asking for things that seem “out of your
reach.”  But, it has been pounded down your throat that
people should live lowly (Godly?) lives, and not ask
for too much.
 
His final example is one of his students, who lived
hand to mouth, wanted a new rug, and a coal stove to
keep warm.  And, by using the methods in this book, he
got them within a few months.  It then dawned on him,
he could have whatever he wanted, and so he re-shaped
the house, first in his mind, and then it became a
reality.
 
And, his whole point:  You Can Do The Very Same Thing!
 
Next time, we look at another very important key in
maintaining and continuing riches!

Let’s jump right into Wattle’s Science of Getting
Rich.
 
This lesson will teach you the truth that will put
to rest the idea that you must live a miserable
existence, and start expanding your mind towards
success.
 
Before I jump into that, Thurgood Marshall once
said, “The mind, once expanded by an idea, can
NEVER return to its original state.”
 
And, that is what this whole chapter is about: 
Expansion and Increasing.
 
Wattles states that everything, including the
universe, has a built in nature to want MORE LIFE.
 
 A seed starts growing and turns into a plant, but
it delivers MORE seeds, so that life can continue
to increase.
 
Intelligence is the same way.  It wants to become
more, and ideas are expanded and added to, so they
create MORE Intelligence.
 
One fact leads to another, just as knowledge needs
to more knowledge, just as one skill wants us to
add another skill.
 
In essence, we want to know more, do more, and be
more.
 
Just like a plant wants to grow, (because all
desires come from a single thought that GROWS), it
is natural for you to want MORE Money.
 
Even the universe is bound by this rule of Wanting
MORE.  That’s why the universe, (whom I call God)
keeps creating MORE and MORE.
 
God wants you to be rich, states Wattles, so that
he can show himself through you better.
 
Nobody pays attention to the bum with no money. 
But, everybody notices the rich.
 
There is a rule, though.
 
What you want, in this process of wanting more,
HAS TO BE in accordance with the goals of the
Universe.
 
Let me step away from Wattles for a minute, and
elaborate.  If you want to take something from
somebody, just so you have more, the Universe will
fight you on it.  Take a look at all the “Stars”
who have made fortunes and squandered it on
foolish things.  They end up penniless.  Wattles
covers this more in a later chapter.
 
You must create something so that everybody wins
in a “value for value” way.  (More on this in
later chapters.)
 
Wattles then proves that all parts of you–the
mental, the physical, and your soul– must all
benefit in the riches that you create.  You cannot
sacrifice your body to become brilliant, nor can
you just give to everybody else, but receive
nothing for your soul, nor can you focus only on
your body, but let your mind go to waste.
 
You should become rich, so that you can do things
that are fun, but in the right time.  While you
are doing that, you can then focus on teaching
others to be rich, just by your example.
 
And, here’s one of the hardest teachings that YOU
MUST LEARN to be rich.
 
It is not through competing, cheating, or
trampling on others that you become rich.  You
don’t have to drive HARD bargains (he later
teaches that this does not mean that you don’t
have to drive ANY bargains, but certainly not HARD
bargains.)  If people work for you, they should
get what they have earned and not less.
 
You don’t have to envy others what they have.  You
can have the same thing by using these methods.
 
The key is CREATION! 
 
He points out that there are people who got rich
by doing the opposite of what was just taught, but
that these people accidentally aligned themselves
with at least the principle of creating MORE, so
that civilization as a whole was advanced.
 
Wattles further discusses that the same POWER that
got these people rich, will also be the same POWER
that destroys them.
 
 As an aside, the first millionaire employee of
Andrew Carnegie, was Charles Schwab.  He spent his
last few weeks living off borrowed money from his
friends and died in squalor.
 
Back to Wattles:  Money that is earned through
competition is “yours today” and “someone else’s”
tomorrow.  You have got to get it out of your head
that the only way to make it is through competing
with others.  He further stresses that if you
think all the money is being hoarded by banks, and
that it is your job to pass laws to stop that, you
have dropped to the level of those who compete. 
You will end up stunting your growth by focusing
on stopping “evil bankers”, and that you need to
focus on Creating Your Own Wealth.
 
As he winds down the chapter, he points out that
there are tons of riches, such as gold, that
haven’t even been tapped yet.  And that there is
no end to the supply of riches that comes from the
Universe, (which I call God.)
 
So, stop worrying about not having enough, and
start living by these laws.
